Wouldn’t it be nice if everything went according to plan? But our lives are messy and complicated and very unpredictable.

This poem starts by acknowledging that life presents us with sink holes and perforations to trip us up. But then, it describes us getting hold of the
map that fate has drawn for us and decorating it with glitter and marker pens to make it, if not avoidable, then at least more enjoyable. Maybe our instinct is a childlike need
